Ethiopia Shakiso Shoondhisa
Clean with a balanced acidity. Enjoy florals up-front paired with stone fruits and berries. Ethiopia Shakiso Shoondhisa showcases the very best of Ethiopian coffee.
ORIGIN
High in the hills of Shakiso, Dambi Uddo brings together around 100 small-holder farmers. All cherry that’s delivered here is fully organic - and unlike the sprawling farms of Latin America, these Ethiopian growers harvest coffee right from their own gardens.
Ture Waji, owner of the Dambi Uddo washing station.
DAMBI UDDO WASHING STATION
In the region surrounding the washing station, each farm averages just 2.5 hectares, cultivating its coffee in lush, semi-forested systems. This unique approach results in fewer trees per hectare but a rich, organic yield that's truly special.
When the fully organic cherry reaches Dambi Uddo, it’s separated by sub-kebele, ensuring the very highest of quality. This particular lot hails from the Shoondhisa sub-kebele within the Suke Quto kebele, showcasing the distinctive flavours and aromas of the region. The meticulous attention to detail and commitment to organic practices make this coffee a standout choice for those who appreciate authenticity and sustainability.

The unique growing conditions and dedication of the farmers translate into a cup that's rich with character and complexity. Perfect for those looking for a deeper connection with their coffee, each brew from Dambi Uddo offers a taste of the Ethiopian highlands and the hard work of its passionate, family-oriented small-holder farmers.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
