Smooth, creamy milk chocolate with honeycomb and soft raspberry.

Luis Alfredo Bautista produced this Typica lot on his 2-hectare farm, La Escuadra, in the rural district of Rusita near Miraflores, Boyacá. Like many producers in the Lengupá region, Luis farms on a small scale, focusing on quality and careful cultivation to bring out the best expression of his coffee. The combination of traditional varieties, mountain-grown conditions and dedicated farm management has helped producers like Luis earn increasing recognition for the quality emerging from this lesser-known Colombian origin.

This coffee was selected through the Concurso Regional de Taza Lengupá, an annual competition designed to showcase the region’s best coffees and connect producers with international markets. In 2026, 56 growers submitted microlots for blind evaluation by a professional tasting panel, with Luis’ coffee chosen among the standout entries. This is one of two competition lots we selected this year, the other being Javier Lopez Montana, alongside a larger regional blend, Colombia Lengupa, sourced from participating producers. We look forward to continuing our support of both the competition and the growers behind it.
