Clean and sweet with vibrant red fruits, juicy blackberry and a zingy mandarin finish.

Javier Lopez Montaña produced this Castillo lot on his 0.5-hectare farm, Paraíso, in the Chirire district of Boyacá’s renowned Lengupá region. Like many producers in the area, Javier works on a small scale, focusing on careful cultivation and selective harvesting to maximise quality. The region’s steep mountainsides, cool nights and varied microclimates create ideal conditions for specialty coffee production, helping to develop the clarity, sweetness and vibrant fruit character that have made Lengupá an increasingly exciting origin.

This coffee was selected through the Concurso Regional de Taza Lengupá, an annual competition held in Miraflores to showcase the region’s top producers and connect their coffees with international markets. In 2026, 56 producers submitted microlots for blind evaluation by a professional tasting panel, with Javier’s coffee earning recognition for its quality and character. This 70kg lot offers a glimpse into the potential of both Javier’s work and the broader Lengupá region. We’re really looking forward to supporting future harvests through this partnership.
