Our Luis Beltran coffee, hailing from Peru, brings notes of silky milk chocolate with peach tea and lime.
Luis Beltran Herrera has been in coffee for as long as he can remember. His parents moved from bustling Cusco city to enjoy a tranquil rural life and started a farm where he grew up. As soon as he was old enough, he started helping on the farm, considering each day as an opportunity to learn and improve.
ABOUT THE FARM
In 1992, Luis took charge of the farm management and started a drive to further enhance the coffee’s quality. Herrera’s efforts led to him being recognised as a coffee expert in the region, someone others seek for advice on their own farms.
Beltran lives with his wife Benedicta, and their sons Giovanni and Roberto. His sons have now taken on the more labour-intensive tasks of the farm, while Herrera supervises and ensures the maintenance of quality.
The production of this high-quality, 100% Bourbon coffee begins with the careful selection of ripe cherries. After picking, the cherries are pulped and then fermented for 24 hours. The beans are sorted once more before being dried on raised beds, which are covered for 12 days to ensure consistent drying and top-tier quality.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
