Colombia Jairo Arcila
This coffee comes directly from one of the Arcila family farms, with whom we’ve worked since 2015. This fully natural EF2 lot uses the family’s own method: ripe cherries are picked, sorted, fermented, then bagged for 50 hours at 22°C before drying on raised beds.
Jairo Arcila is a third-generation coffee grower from Quindío, Colombia. Married to Luz Helena Salazar, he has two sons, Carlos and Felipe. Jairo began his career at Colombia’s second-largest exporter, serving as Mill Manager for over 40 years until retiring in 2019.
With guidance from his sons (both specialists in specialty coffee), Jairo has refined his picking, sorting, and processing techniques, and expanded into cultivating exotic varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Java, Papayo, and Gesha. Their expertise has empowered him to produce coffees with outstanding quality and distinctive flavour profiles.
Beyond coffee, Jairo grows mandarins, oranges, plantains and bananas on his farms. He enjoys starting his day with a hearty breakfast, but his greatest joy comes from spending time with his family.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
