Colombia German Peña Zuta
German Peña Zuta is a third-generation coffee producer from the rural vereda of Fátima in Suaza, Huila, where he farms Finca El Roblar alongside his wife Viviana and their two sons. Though just 39, German has spent over 16 years cultivating coffee on this land, guided by family tradition and a deep personal pride in his work. With harvest support from local pickers, the family focuses on careful selection and steady quality improvement season after season.
Finca El Roblar sits at 1800 MASL and is planted with Caturra, Cenicafe 1, Bourbon and Tabi, nourished by naturally occurring streams. German’s washed Pink Bourbon, a prize-winning entry in this year’s Copa de Oro, showcases his thoughtful approach to processing. Cherries are fermented whole for 12 hours, depulped, fermented again for 24 hours, then rinsed and dried on raised zaranda beds, resulting in a clean, sweet and quietly expressive cup.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
