Colombia Blanca Rubys Lopez
High in the lush hills of Pitalito, Blanca Rubys Lopez and her family bring generations of tradition to every harvest. At their farm, Los Cachingos, careful fermentation and slow drying create a cup that’s bright, juicy, and beautifully sweet.
Blanca Rubys and her husband Victor Felix have spent decades cultivating coffee, raising their children at Los Cachingos and instilling in them the same deep respect for the land and its fruits. Since shifting their focus to specialty coffee in 2019, the family has worked closely together. Each member takes on a dedicated role to ensure quality at every stage.
Their farm, nestled at 1600–1700 MASL in the southern Huila region, is named after the cachingo tree, an emblem of the region’s natural beauty and a quiet force in soil regeneration. This connection to the land informs every part of their process, from handpicking ripe Bourbon Aji cherries to managing a meticulous, multi-day washed fermentation.
The result of this care and precision earned them 20th place in the 2023 Cup of Excellence. But for Blanca, the real reward is witnessing her family’s growth and shared success. Supported by Caravela and guided by both tradition and innovation, this coffee is a true expression of the family’s passion, resilience, and craft.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
