Brazil Topazio

Brazil Topazio

Introducing our latest lot for espresso, Pedro Gabarra Topazio!

Pedro Teixeira, the son of João Newton, is of his family’s fifth generation of coffee growers. As one of our longest-serving partners, Pedro maintains a proud focus on both quality and sustainability, priorities that shine with every coffee we receive from him.

In 2019, Pedro received the award for Brazil’s Most Sustainable Farm (Globo Rural magazine). Pedro and his operation also received carbon positive status in 2021 after a year-long assessment of farm practices.

Maintaining an ever-progressive focus on keeping their approach to farming sustainable, local and sensitive to the environment around them, Pedro and his family have also built a large shelter for hurt or trafficked birds. Called Wings, this special program has been so successful that the team has recently added a second shelter to the mix.

WHAT MAKES THIS COFFEE UNIQUE

This incredible Topazio lot was fermented in a sealed stainless steel drum for nearly 100 hours. We absolutely love this coffee, and team Rumble is super excited to have Pedro’s coffee back after a short hiatus.

SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE COFFEE PRACTISES

We believe in supporting coffee producers who implement sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. This lot from Pedro Gabarra is a beautiful example of our commitment to sourcing coffee that aligns with our values. By choosing this single origin, you're not only enjoying a delicious cup of coffee, but also supporting the communities involved in producing it.

PRICING EXPLAINED

*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.

^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
