Diofanor Ruiz is a passionate producer from La Divisa in Buenavista, Quindío, where he grows Papayo, Castillo, and Caturra among lush agroforestry. Some of the Rumble crew have visited his farm and were blown away by its organisation and Diofanor’s vibrant personality. His attention to detail shines through — only the ripest cherries are handpicked and undergo a 45-hour aerobic fermentation before slow drying. The result is a sweet, fruit-driven coffee that’s as lively as Diofanor himself.

Diofanor Ruiz was born into a traditional coffee-farming family in Quindío, Colombia, and has been connected to coffee since childhood. In 2003, he became a certified producer and, two years later, purchased La Divisa, his 14-hectare farm at 1950 MASL. in Buenavista. Over the years, Diofanor has transformed La Divisa into a model of quality and sustainability, cultivating varietals such as Papayo, Castillo, and Caturra among a thriving agroforestry system.

Some of the Rumble crew recently visited La Divisa, meeting Diofanor in person and seeing firsthand his incredible attention to detail, infectious energy, and the care he puts into every stage of production. His farm is beautifully organised — a reflection of both his discipline and deep respect for the land.

Only the ripest cherries are handpicked and undergo a 45-hour aerobic fermentation, before slow drying for up to 15 days. The result is a coffee as bright and layered as Diofanor himself — sweet, fruity, and full of life.
