Colombia Eduar Giraldo
In the coffee-rich hills of Planadas, Tolima, Eduar Giraldo cultivates Pink Bourbon at 2003 MASL on his farm La Esperanza. Careful fermentation, followed by slow drying and stabilisation, results in a vibrant, sugar-forward cup with sparkling citrus and tropical nuance.
For the month of June, this is our Subscription Exclusive coffee.
Eduar Giraldo comes from a long line of Colombian coffee producers, his parents and grandparents before him working the land with care and intention. Inspired by that legacy, Eduar bought his first plot of land at a young age and hasn’t looked back since.

Alongside his wife, Diana Lorena, Eduar now manages two farms: La Esperanza and Las Delicias. Since shifting to high-quality specialty coffee in 2020, he’s focused on making his business not just profitable, but progressive, investing in better infrastructure, expanding his land, and improving his family’s livelihood in the process.
In 2023, Eduar travelled to Brazil through a regional project to learn about new techniques and technologies, returning home motivated and full of ideas. Today, his approach blends traditional knowledge with modern precision: handpicking ripe cherries, extended fermentation in sealed plastic bins, and a two-phase drying process that ensures flavour clarity and consistency.

With support from Caravela and a deep respect for his land’s water sources, soil, and varieties, Eduar is building something truly special. This lot is his debut on the international stage—and it’s just the beginning.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
