PRICING EXPLAINED

*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.

^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.

ABOUT

For the second year in a row this incredible washed lot is from a Colombian farmers group by Caravela Coffee. Each smallholder grows, harvests and processes their own crop, receiving 25% more return than the daily market rate.

Bruselas is a community in Huila in which the steep ridges of the region produce a crisp, vibrant acidity and subtle complexity. Because of the highly suitable conditions, producers often plant avocados and other tropical fruits amongst their coffee trees. Caravela works closely with it's small-scale coffee producers, guaranteeing sustainable farming practices and consistent cup quality. Big wins all-round.

The surrounding area of Macizo Colombiano is a location in which the three ranges of the Colombian Andes come together to form one larger system of mountains. This convergence, along with the influence of rivers, the Amazon and the Pacific, creates a unique environment of micro-climates, incredible phenomena that are essential for producing the full array of flavour profiles of coffees from this region.
