ABOUT THE GROWER - NORICO PEREZ VARGAS
In the Cusco region of Calca, Norico Perez Vargas runs Finca Don Gary alongside her husband Gary, building a coffee project shaped by family and ambition. Both grew up around coffee in Combapata, but it was the birth of their son Neydan that pushed them toward specialty production. Seeking better quality and a more sustainable income, they began refining their approach, learning through trial and error and steadily improving their results season after season.
THE FINCA DON GARY FARM
At 1858 MASL, Finca Don Gary benefits from a cool, stable microclimate shaped by its proximity to untouched forest. This washed Marsellesa highlights Norico and Gary’s growing precision, with a focus on clean fermentation, careful drying and consistent lot separation. Their investment in infrastructure and willingness to experiment have steadily lifted quality across recent harvests. This 60kg lot is our first release from the farm through Caravela, offering a clear and promising snapshot of their trajectory.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
