Burundi Bumba
Burundi Bumba brings notes of bright red fruits with blackberry and raspberry intensity, lifted by a soft Turkish Delight sweetness.
NINGA WASHING STATION
Ninga Washing Station was established in 2019 by Long Miles on a remote hilltop 10 kilometres from Bukeye, sitting at 1,900 metres above sea level beside the Nkokoma River. Built to serve farmers travelling long distances for fair scales and just pricing, Ninga was born from necessity. Despite its isolation, limited access to clean water and electricity, and a history shaped by conflict, the hill has consistently produced elegant, complex coffees since its first harvest.
The surrounding hills, including Bumba, are home to small farming communities where coffee is the primary crop, grown alongside corn and beans. Reaching these hills requires crossing rivers and provincial borders, underscoring just how remote life here can be. With minimal infrastructure, a single primary school and a small local market at the hill’s centre, coffee remains a vital source of income and stability. Long Miles’ deepening commitment to these communities continues to support quality, resilience and long-term sustainability.

PRICING EXPLAINED
*This is the FOB (Free On Board) price: the price paid to the exporter before shipping, and which does not include shipping costs, weight loss (around 17%), storage and other charges. Ultimately, the FOB price represents the $ figure that stays in the coffee's country of origin, benefiting its producer, community, and beyond.
^This is the 'raw' price paid directly to the producer, and paid in the local currency for parchment coffee. The coffee is then milled and sorted before being placed in bags, ready for shipping.
