Galeri Coffee & Art: Where Melbourne's best coffee and art collide

Amidst the hustle and bustle of Brunswick East’s Lygon Street, sits Galeri. One of the best places in Melbourne to take a breather, enjoy an ethically-sourced coffee, and appreciate the art lining the walls of this beautiful place.

The idea for this gallery-cafe was envisioned by owners Alhana, Bernadette, and Thomas at the pub one day back in 2021, and a year and a half later, that dream has become a beautiful and well-thought-out reality. This unique place is well and truly set apart from other cafes in Brunswick, and despite being the new kids on the block, as well as one of Rumble Coffee's newest customers, they're quickly establishing themselves as a place where Brunswick East locals can find Melbourne's best coffee.

The space has been crafted with intention, and creativity - and it shows. The bright and inviting space features natural light, handcrafted furniture, stunning artwork, and a space where people can relax alongside a delicious coffee and vegan croissant.

Unlike most art galleries, Galeri isn't a space where art is looked at from a distance, and spoken about in hushed tones. But rather, it's a place where excellent art and excellent coffee can be appreciated in a down-to-earth and inclusive way; you're free to be as loud or as messy as you like. And furry friends are not just welcomed, but encouraged; Galeri is a dog friendly cafe!

Owner Alhana hopes that it can be an accessible and inclusive place for artists to showcase and sell their artwork, and the minimal commission means that the art is more affordable, and artists earn more for their work.

This focus on ethics and sustainability extends far beyond the gallery side of things, and is how Galeri came to be partnering with Rumble Coffee. In sourcing a wholesale coffee supplier, Alhana and Thomas wanted excellent specialty coffee, but also were looking for a roaster who cares about the planet and coffee growers. After trying Rumble's delicious coffee beans, and reading the transparency reports which detail how much growers are paid for their coffee, Alhana, Bernadette, and Thomas knew that Rumble was the right fit for Galeri Coffee & Art.

Alongside coffee, you'll find a variety of pastries and vegan pastries courtesy of Baked for Sofia, as well as a collection of delicious sandwiches.
